Susanne Kutter beschäftigt sich oft mit dem katastrophalen Verhältnis von Natur zu Kultur. Immer wieder tauchen Themen auf wie der Verlust von Sicherheit und Kontinuität. In diesem Zusammenhang reflektiert sie auch die verändernde Rolle der Frau in der westlichen Gesellschaft und das zunehmende Verschwinden der bürgerlichen Mittelschicht, die traditionell von Wohlstand, Bildung und Kultur geprägt ist.
